Door specialist with a heart for wood

The origin of Solid is closely tied to the family history of David Holvoet, our founder. David’s love for wood was instilled by his father Dirk, a skilled carpenter. Dirk encouraged his son to study further and explore the world. At the age of 20, David traveled to Canada, Malaysia, and Indonesia to work on-site in sawmills, learning the international trade and processing of wood. On August 25, 2000, shortly after leaving school, David founded Solid International. Initially, Solid focused on developing and importing solid oak doors, first for the DIY market and later for trade. Since 2010, Solid Binnendeuren has positioned itself as a distributor and manufacturer of door sets in Belgium.
